Readers of my post on how to handle young children's images on the web wrote with a few more suggestions about how to share photos, videos, and others kinds of media involving your children without putting them on the public web for the world to access.

I'll be checking each out in more detail, but here are a few additional sharing tools.

EnjoyMyMedia.com - Billed as a way to privately broadcast personal media to friends and family in a way that makes it easy for them to view. The bonus is you can send all kinds of files, on an ongoing basis, not only photos and videos. I'm intrigued and will definitely be taking a closer look at this free service.

Geni - New this year, this site allows you to simply and privately build a family tree with other family members, and share photos among each other. Lifehacker calls it "by far the best genealogy app we've seen."

Maya' s mom - Nancy, an active member of maya's mom, a social network for parents, suggests we check out the site's photo sharing feature. "The privacy settings on Maya's mom are great (only your friends can see your pics.)

Well, that's three ways to share images and info about kids more privately. Certainly, there's no shortage of ideas on how to share photos and other files privately with friends and family. The trick is finding the method that works for you and everyone you're sharing with. So please, keep sharing what works for your family.

You did not mention www.ourcutebabies.com, the safest and fastest-growing community for moms on the Net. Our users can opt-in to a community of ID Verified members, thus taking away the anonymousness of the Net. It also allows users the option to keep their baby photos private, visible only to this ID Verified community, and a level of security that no one else offers.

In my personal opinion I believe that ourcutebabis is not a safe place at all. Infact they keep raising their prices to join their site when at first it was a dollar just to verify you. Before you join you may want to ask them what does verifying really mean. They cant garuntee any safety at all. They will let anyone on the site that pays the money. They dont call you, come to your house etc...to verify you say you are who you are... so maybe think twice before you decide to pay for a false since of securtiy. There are many more sites that offer the same features they do for free!

I agree completely with jmbmoi. I would never ever pay money to join that site again. Forget about your freedom if you join there too. You will not be allowed to talk freely about what you like, they will restrict every detail of your life including joining other mommy websites. They will remove you without warning for belonging to other sites, or questioning their verification process.

I also totally agree with jmbmoi... I would never pay money to join that site again either. There is nothing private about it, they monitor your personal private messages... it is a very uncomfortable atmosphere and I dont recommend it at all. You are also not allowed to be a member of other sites because if they find out, you will be removed immediately without warning. There was no sense of security at all.

Take it from someone who was apart of a site above they say is safe...you pay them but no real verification or back ground search is done. And even if you are not verified you still can look through forums, pictures and even messege people on the site. This site also freaks out if you are apart of any other website that are about childern...and if they find out you are they will delete you in minutes - of course there is no rule against being on other website but they will delete you and keep your money. There are so many other sites that actually give you a lot better privacy and safety for free!
