With summer unofficially starting this weekend, lots of us will be on the road more and looking for Wi-Fi connections. I point out a few ways to find free and paid Wi-Fi hotspots via the Web in this post. But here's another way to find hotspots in some major U.S. cities with the help of your cell phone.
Send your street address to ilovefreewifi.com and you'll get back two messages with the six closest Wi-Fi hotspots. If you're in Manhattan, you'd send it to nyc@ilovefreewifi.com, for example. And if you want more info about the locations, send the location code in the message to info@ilovefreewifi.com to find out hours of operation and a more detailed description of the business or location. Thanks to Lifehacker via Gizmodo for the tip.
The list is incomplete but growing every day as users add locations.
It's one more way to stay connected on the road.
