Here's the best roundup I've seen on family networking sites that are taking shape on the Web. As CNET reports, a family-networking niche has been growing on the Web since January.

For families looking for a place to connect, share photos, family tree information, family calendars and trip plans, there are suddenly quite a few choices, and more are on the way.

I wrote about a few family and parent networking sites, including Amiglia, Jotspot, and FamilyRoutes, in this post and this one. But here's a list of some other family sites to check out. (Thanks CNET.) Let me know which ones you think your families would like for keeping in touch with each other.

Families.com: An advice and blogging community for parents.

Minti: A free beta site for fostering advice, friendship and community for parents.

Ourstory: Another free beta site with a twist—timeline tools for sharing family happenings, photos and video.

Zamily: A family networking site that launched this month.

Famoodle: A family networking site that also offers family news.

Cingo: Offers news, movie listings, shared calendar and to-do lists.

There's so many to choose from, which one is the best? Can you give us a review of each one of them and tell us the advantages/disadvantages of each one?

I've recently subscribed to zamily.com and the simplicity of the site is a big plus. The interface is easy enough to understand that even my relatives with little computer experience were able to get into it without much hassle. It's a fairly new site and much of the features that it has now is pretty much what all I need for family contacts.

Absolutely, I will be taking a closer look at these sites, but I'd love to hear what readers have to say about the sites, too!

Im the creator of Famoodle.com. I really would appreciate you all trying it out. We designed specifically with simplicity in mind. We wanted all families, young and old, to be able to use it and enjoy it. Please let me know any comments or suggestions you may have with regards to the site by filling out a comment form on the site. One thing to note about Famoodle is that we are always working to make it even easier to use, and adding additional features. Thanks, and no matter which family site you choose, I wish you all the very best!
