Got unwanted DVDs, CDs? Trade 'Em

Got lots of DVDs, CDs and, yes, VHS tapes, you don't want anymore but don't want to throw away, either?

Of course you do. We all do. That's why two friends with no background in technology came up with the idea for a web site where people can trade CDs, DVDs and tapes of equal value. Dan Elias, a television news anchor in western Massachusetts, and Bill Bloom, a New York City volleyball league owner, call it Zunafish. Traders pay $1 to Zunafish to effect a trade, along with the postage that the web site automatically calculates.

Traders rate each other, eBay style, and you can't trade out of category: DVDs for DVDs and CDs for CDs. The site launched with no publicity in January but word-of-mouth advertising got it into The New York Times in today's Circuits section.

I wonder what one "Free Willy" and an "Agent Cody Banks" on DVD would get us.  But we will never part with the boxed set of Monty Python's Flying Circus DVDs.

You know, there is some software out there that let's you rip DVD's into VOB format. If you have a VOB player then you can watch them on your PC. You can download Cucusoft's free VOB player at http://www.avi-vcd.com/download/Media-Player.exe for high-speed connections, or here (http://www.avi-to-vcd.com/download/Media-Player.exe)for low-speed connections.
