TeleNav, which provides GPS navigation with spoken turn-by-turn instructions on cell phones, has added real-time traffic information to its service.
In January, the company added TeleNav Traffic, real-time traffic alerts and information, to its service offered through Sprint, and it will available through Cingular soon. It's free through June 30, but afterward will cost $3.99 a month. The navigation and 3-D maps service is $9.99 a month through most carriers that offer it, though Cingular also offers 10 trips for $5.99 a month.
You can find a list of the carriers and phones that provide the service in this post, and my review of TeleNav's service here. But this month, TeleNav announced that its service available on RIM's BlackBerry 8800 offered through Cingular, or I guess we should say, AT&T.
The service also has gone international: It's now available in Canada through Rogers Wireless and in Europe on BlackBerry handsets, including the 8800, in 15 countries.
Has anyone been using TeleNav's GPS services, and if so, what do you think so far?

DON'T USE TELENAV -- Good luck trying to cancel. I've been on hold for 30 minutes (you can't cancel online!), and still waiting. I don't like doing business with companies that make it very difficult to cancel their service. Btw, I did try emailing their "customer service", but never received a reply.
same here. tried to cancel got conformation #,tll they charged me and put my bank acct into a negative balance. Let me guess, I'm now stuck with the outragous overdraft fee too.

BEWARE - DON'T use Telenav. I tried the "free trial" and cancelled after a week. THEY NEVER CANCEL YOUR TRIAL. They give you reference numbers and promise to call and email confirmation of the cancellation, but they proceed to charge your card. The service is adequate, but since it does't have much loaded on your phone it has to download data all the time which renders the product useless in town or anywhere other than remote highway stretches. I ended up having to block them from charging my card from the card company.
