As a Web Designer, I love working with music in the background, so I need variety. My iPod is great, but I'm tired of the same old tracks, and the radio can be annoying with the endless string of advertisements. The Sirius S50 portable player I just reviewed is great, but it won't play live programming unless it's docked in my car. What's the use in that, right? I need music while I'm at the office too, not just in the car.
Sirius does offer an alternative: the S50 Executive System. I got my hands on one to test out with the Sirius S50 portable player, and I was impressed. It includes a wall-mounting bracket so you can mount it on the wall if you need to, or simply leave it on your desk. It also includes a wireless remote, and has a Media Dial wheel, volume knob, mode buttons, and a setup button so you can easily search through content or adjust your settings.
Sound coming out of this boombox is outstanding. You can provide the tunes for any office or house party with this little boombox. Its elegant design definitely compliments the S50 player, which is not included with the Executive system.
If you're going to pay a monthly fee for satellite radio, you might as well take advantage of it, and listen to it outside of the car. On the downside, this dock is expensive, so you might want to look at the Sirius S50 Home Dock Kit for less pricey home docking system.

I have purchased a S50 Executive System Boom Box and the product was defected after 2 weeks. I was told by Sirius to return the item and they will replace the EX Boom Box, that was over 1 1/2 months ago. I have been dealing with the Warranty Dept and the Customer Service Dept only to get the run around. I requested a refund of my product only to be told that they will credit my account!! I am not seeking legal action to either replace the defected item or I want my money back. If and when you have to deal with the Customer Service or Warranty Dept, make sure you document everything and write down the claim numbers.
