Eco-friendsters waiting for a commercial hydrogen-powered Hummer to drive their friends to places like Burning Man may be closer to a owning a Hummer than they think. This one doesn't require any fuel, but I wouldn't say it's completely eco-friendly either. Say hello to a new breed of tough phones that exude sex appeal and rugged good looks. French design firm ModeLabs managed to capture Hummer's militaristic style with a collection of HT1 handsets covered in green camouflaged and bright yellow designs.

The wide slider phone sports a 2.2 inch 260K color touchscreen, 2-megapixel camera, microSD slot, integrated FM radio, 256MB of memory, and GSM/GPRS support.

Nothing too exciting, but it's nice to finally see a decent camouflaged phone available. I'm sure Arnold Schwarzenegger will get one in every color, even if he already ditched his fleet of gas-guzzlers.

Hummer is not the first car maker to introduce branded high-tech gadgets to the market. Ferrari and Porsche have released laptops, mobiles, and even navigation systems under their name. The phone will be launched in Europe first, at a retail price of 300 Euros ($409).
