If you thought YouTube was popular, wait until Oprah officially launches her own YouTube channel tomorrow. Starting November 6, the talk show diva is going viral with an Ultra Flip-Video camera and all! In her first video message, she says that she's excited to have her own YouTube channel, where she'll feature exclusive videos she made herself, backstage highlights captured with an "Oprah cam," and other behind-the-scenes footage.
To celebrate her YouTube debut, Oprah will have YouTube founders Chad Hurley and Steve Chen as special guests, along with a few YouTube sensations such as Tyson, the skateboarding dog, Paul Potts, and the "Evolution of Dance" guy. P.Diddy will also be revealing his new assistant, who he searched for using YouTube.
The YouTube channel will not be replacing Oprah's extensive video archive, which hosts show clips dating back to 1999. Instead, Tim Bennett, president of Harpo Productions, says this collaboration with YouTube "provides another platform for people online to communicate with us and share in some of the one-of-a-kind experiences that occur behind-the-scenes at 'The Oprah Winfrey Show.'"
What do you think? Will you be tuning in to Oprah on YouTube?
