Feel Like a True Rockband Star with Smoke, Light Show

Rockband is my new favorite game, and one that makes me feel like I'm actually good at playing an instrument. Sure, I—or anyone, for that matter—can easily belt out Flyleaf's "I'm So Sick" or Garbage's " I Think I'm Paranoid," but I prefer playing the drums since that's the one instrument most people can't play, and one that makes me feel like a true virtual rock star.

Turns out Harmonix may be releasing a Rockband Stage Kit sometime this summer to make the Rockband experience a little more surreal. Destructoid was quick to get a screen cap from Gamestop's website before the site pulled the pre-release page showing a price of $99 for a stage kit with an "Interactive Light and Smoke Stage Show." I'm not exactly sure how the smoke and lights will operate, but I'm guessing they'll go off when the band is giving their best performance. Not much is known about the mysterious stage kit, other than pricing and release date, so keep checking back for details.

On a different note, it looks like Gamestop will start selling Rockband instruments individually starting on March 4th. The guitar and drumset will sell for $80, and the microphone for $30. Those are pretty steep prices, considering they had guitar problems when they released the game.

What do you think? Is a Rockband stage kit really necessary?

You know what'll really enhance the experience? A better drum set! I mean i know the current one is decent and all.. but it is extremely loud and doesn't have enough pads.

sounds pretty cool.............the drum scilencers sold on e-bay work really well on quieting the drum sounds.
