A GPS of the snitchin' kind

You probably think I'm obsessed with spying tools, but sometimes I just can't believe how blatantly they market these gizmos to suspicious spouses or worried parents—as if people didn't have enough problems. Last week, I told you about the sneaky SIM Card Spy, and this week another spying gadget entered my radar, this one is appropriately named GPS Snitch because it helps people track anything they want, including their loved ones.

Register Hardware says the self-contained unit can be slipped into a bag or car without the owner's knowledge ("Just arm it, hide it, and track it"). Once the device has been planted, the snooper can track the device's location in real-time using Blip's website. The site even delivers SMS messages straight to your mobile phone of its whereabouts, so you don't even have to be near a computer. The GPS Snitch is expensive though, so you better be really motivated about spying on someone. The device itself sells for $399 plus you're required to sign-up for a monthly monitoring package that starts at $15/month. Ouch!

no way. when are people gonna realize that this isn't right? i mean the people selling this can't be positive that the buyer isn't tracking someone to harm them!!!

no way. when are people gonna see that that this isn't right? i mean the makers of this product can't be sure whether or not they're selling it to someone who wants to harm people. it's ridiculous.

Watch out for the paparazzi - once they get privy to these types of tools, there will be no stopping them!

I will say this is a useful device if the price wasn't that expensive. I want one to put in somewhere with my 4yrs old son, so I don' need to worry about losing him on sight - especially travelling oversea.
