Believe or not, there are people out there afraid of harmful radiation and
electromagnetic waves their mobile devices may be transmitting. We've already
heard of MummyWraps that
protect unborn children from electro-smog, and men's
briefs lined with silver threads that block radiation to prevent infertility,
so it comes as no surprise that one Irish company has designed an anti-radiation
men's suit.
Silicon Republic reports clothing company Remus Uomo has designed a special men's suit tailored for paranoid types worried about the effects of radiation. The crease and stain resistant suit has pockets lined with specially coated yarn that blocks electromagnetic waves, and uses nanotechnology that blocks out 99 percent of all direct radiation.
Another reason to buy one of these E-Blocker suits? Blue-hackers. Yes, the company's spokesperson Sam Livingstone says a suit like this would appeal to individuals who either don’t wish to be contacted (the phone won't ring while it's in the pocket) or fear they might be Blue-jacked via Bluetooth-wielding data thieves.
Apparently, this suit's effectiveness has been confirmed by the University of the Armed Forces in Munich and the Klaus Steilmann Institute, and can be found at most department stores in Northern Ireland. Could this really be the future of fashion?
