Must we call anything that rolls around a robot? We've let it slide with the Roomba, Scooba and even the LitterRobot, and now a Japanese robot named Miuro is on-the-scene twisting and rolling to the sound of your iTunes music.
Muiro stands for "music innovation based on utility robot technology". Innovation is a good word to describe the egg-shaped music player with an integrated speaker system that houses a docked iPod inside. It's purpose is to drag along your music to every corner of your house. The remote controlled device plays music stored on your iPod, and connects wirelessly to your PC to play music from your iTunes library. Optional cameras and sensor will be available to help the robotic dock map out its own course. Â
Miuro is probably one of the most expensive accessories for iPod, retailing at $930 in Japan. You can order one via the Internet, or wait until next year to get one here in the states.
Let's hope that the price goes down before it arrives to the U.S., because at $930 they might as well keep it far away from here.

The Motorola Q phone is smart and beautiful, kind of like the supermodel Tyra Banks, but that's not ...
