Found a new service through Lifehacker that saves you from making that dreaded sick call in the morning. I despise calling in sick, because I hate explaining why I can't come in to work. When you're sick, you don't feel like answering twenty questions, and you certainly don't feel like waking up in the morning when you've been up all night with fever, chills, and a throbbing headache. It's actually very frustrating. Lucky for me, I've had employers who allowed me to just email then instead of calling in.
But we're not all so lucky, especially when you have a difficult boss who is fed up with fake sick-callers, so they try to make it hard for anyone to ever call in sick again.
Group2Call's Call-In-Sick phone service lets your record, and schedule a message that is delivered to the boss letting him/her know you won't be coming in. You basically call a number (561.214.8030), record your "sick" message, and schedule the delivery time, preferably at 5 a.m. when the boss is still asleep. You don't want him answering the phone, you know.
Now I don't see why real sick people would ever need this service, so that leaves the fake sick-callers who have to muster up a raspy voice, do a little fake coughing, and throat clearing while flushing the toilet, until they perfect their sick sounding call.
I couldn't try out the service, because their servers were experiencing overload, which probably means there was a lot of sick calling going on.
What do you think? Would you ever use this service? Come on, be honest.

Our business has a voice mail system that lets you schedule a delivery of a voice message. So after you record your award winning sick sounding message, you can schedule it for an hour before the start of the work day. You can schedule up to a year in advance if you plan that well!!!
You betcha!!
Its nothing to call in sick but its everything if you don't have the leave. I'm still trying to make-up time for when my boss sent me home due to illness almost a year ago. As for talking to the boss Sting sang it best, "every meeting with his so called superior is a humiliating kick in the crotch". Sign me up for the service.

Personally, I don't think this is going to work because this service will actually offer more opportunities for fake sick-callers. I wonder why would we need this services? We can just leave voicemail by our cellphones. Why would we need to dial this number, and leave our messages? Also, fake sick-callers would like to use this service because it would be easier for them to leave voicemail than talking directly with the boss on the phone.
