Sony is sprucing up more VAIO laptops with embedded designs, just like it did with the FJ Graphic Splash Editions. The AR and C series are the latest laptops available in colorful patterns, seven to be exact. Engadget says only 2,650 Graphic Splash Edition laptops in these two series will be available in colors such as Pink Swirl, Red/Green Storm, Blue Streaks, and Angel.
Having a color choice is great, especially on the media-heavy AR Series (in "Orbit" and "Green Streak"), which features a 17-inch LCD, a Core 2 Duo processor, Windows XP Media Center, a DVD drive with Blu-ray disc (on some models), and up to a 400GB hard drive. Unfortunately, the price isn't to die for, starting at $1,800.
But will color be a deciding factor? If you like the "Red Storm" VAIO in the C Series, then you'll be happy to know they're also a lot more affordable. Under the hood, the C Series packs a 120GB hard drive, a 13.3-inch widescreen display, a Core 2 Duo processor, and Windows XP or Media Center. Laptops in this series are also available in solid colors for you serious fans.
I love laptops with new designs, but to be honest you can accomplish the same effect with laptop skins at a much more affordable price. What do you think?
