Bluetooth Headsets: From Geek to Chic

Bluetooth headsets used to make us look like a cyborgs. But from what I've seen at CES, Bluetooth headsets are now more discreet, thinner, and stylish. One headset that caught my eye was Sony Ericsson's HBH-PV705 Style Edition. It's so charming with its three interchangeable floral plates and necklace strap you even forget it's a headset. It offers 12 hours of talk time and 300 hours of standby time, and the quaint package contains a charger, a protective pouch, and an attachable jewelry.

Another chic Bluetooth headset I spotted was Motorola's H800 Slider. Etched with floral details, the H800 is very light and functional as it allows you to accept, end, redial, and voice-dial calls without reaching for your phone. When you receive a call, you simply slide it open to talk. I saw it in blue and red but couldn't confirm if it will be available in other colors. The Motorola Slider will be released in the first quarter of 2007.

I was salivating over many others at the Motorola booth, including the beautiful Dolce and Gabbana RAZR/Bluetooth Headset combo that's to die for!

Bluetooth headsets are so ridiculous! I can't stand seeing people wear these in public. People who wear them like to think they are important enough that they need a phone on them at all times. Sorry, but they will never be cool. They're downright ugly, and I would never date someone who wore a headset. And has anyone considered the fact that headsets expose them to constant radiation, which could create serious health problems later on?

I wear glassses and use a Motorola H700. It's a little harder hooking it on my ear, the glasse can get in the way. But it fits fine and feels comfortable once it's on. I work out of my house and the headset lets me do things with my hands while on the phone. I don't keep it on all the time, but usually use it for conference calls. Also states like NJ and NY will not let you use your cell in the car without a hands free device. But of course I always pull over to take/make a call ; )

First of all the headset is for people to use on the go an although people do tend to abuse this item it is very helpful. I generally do not wear mine unless I am receiving or making a call. Being the mother of two kids under three this item comes in handy at the mall or any store and especally at the park or when waiting for the older kids to get out of school. I am always very careful to keep my conversation short and try not to use it often when there are a lot of people around. As long as people are considerate of others it is a great little gadget.
