I'm officially suffering from "tech neck" after spending endless hours on the computer working on several editing projects. I'm at the point where I'll pay anything and anyone for a good neck massage. As I was searching for a spa online, I came across several places that offer services tailored specifically for techies suffering from tech neck, BlackBerry thumb, and there's even such as thing as a cell phone facial.
I wish I lived in New York, because I'd be heading to Dorit Baxter's New York Day Spa, one of the first spas to offer what she calls the Tech Neck massage. Her massage is designed to muscle out aches and pains that come from spending an excessive amount of time hunched over a computer or a PDA. Anyone who's planted in front of a computer all day, surfing the web or gaming, will recognize these symptoms: tight neck, tingling in the arms, migraines, and back pain. According to the site, the massage "gets the blood flowing through muscles cramped from computer time with a steaming towel placed on the back, specially designed stretches, pressures, and a deep combing with fingertips that straighten out our lumps." That sounds exactly like something I need right now. And yes, I'm more than willing to pay $60 for a thirty minute treatment.
Anyone know any other places like this in your area or home remedies that work on tech neck?

At the risk of sounding like a spammer I wanted to let you know of a new remedy, not for Blackberry thumb, but for "Tech Neck" from sitting at a computer. Our modern technology definitely can have a detrimental effect on our spines and muscles. A massage is the best way to reliever the tech neck problem. I am getting relief from the tense trapezius muscles plus many other problems. In between massages a new pillow aids in relieving the tech neck stress. I invented and patented the SquidFace and ComfyRest pillows to relieve my pain from a herniated neck disk. For tech neck they work facedown or face up. www.SquidFace.com
