A Different Kind of Pillow Talk

Who doesn't remember staying up all night talking on the phone, only to emerge with a red, burning ear from the experience? I guess romantics today could use a regular Bluetooth headset to whisper sweet nothings into their lover's ears, but why risk it when you could just lay your head on a pillow phone while you talk all night long?

A cool concept from UrbanTool, called the perCushion, came out of CeBit in Germany this past week. The banana-shaped pillow phone is covered in soft velvet with a foamy core inside that holds a microphone, loudspeaker and Bluetooth device that enables you to answer calls wirelessly. Fabric buttons along the side provides users with controls to answer incoming calls, place them on hold, or end them completely. Users are alerted of any incoming calls by blinking LED lights placed on the side. Since PerCushion operates on Bluetooth, I really doubt you can use it with any house phone, however, anyone who's talked on a cell phone for more than 20 minutes will welcome a fun accessory like the pillow phone with open arms.

PerCushion is still a concept product, but if may become a reality sometime next year. What do you think of the pillow phone? Good or bad idea?
