After my post on Ugenie, I heard about some other great shopping sites dedicated to bringing you outrageous discounts. Here's another sweet one.
Jellyfish is a shopping site dedicated to bringing you one great deal every day. It's a lot like the incredibly popular woot.com, but with a twist. Every day Jellyfish puts one item on the shopping chopping block. It starts at full retail price, then the price starts getting knocked down, bit by bit. Over the course of the day, the price gets lower and lower until the stuff is sold out or it's given away for free. They call it the "smack of the day."
Sounds too good to be true? Today the 80GB iPod (retail $350) ended up at $204 before selling out. Yesterday a $180 Toshiba DVD player hit $62. Last week the iPod Nano made it all the way to free. (Well, there were technical problems and everyone who purchased them got them for free.) There are never that many for sale, but it's worth checking in every day to check out what's on the block. New deals go up at 10am PST. (As I type this, an Xbox 360 Core System is $75 off and still going down...)
While we're talking about deal-o'-the-day sites, be sure to check out woot's spinoff, wine.woot.com, which offers a good deal on a collection of wines once a week (instead of once a day). Not only are the prices killer, shipping is always a flat $5 every week. Drink up, laddies!
