Like many an Xbox 360 gamer, I'm already on my second console (after my first one bit the dust last spring). But while it's still chugging away, my little beige buddy is suffering from a litany of ailments—some merely minor and annoying, others more serious. And from what I've read on the Microsoft forums, I'm one of the lucky ones.

I must be a lucky one too. Mine has been working fine for over a year. I doubt I play it as much as other people though.... maybe 6 hours a week tops. And I definitely leave it out in the open, instead of cramming it into a hot electronics cabinet.... which I suspect is why so many systems are breaking down.
i brought the xbox to a friends and saw the RROD. left it unplugged for 10 mins then it turned back on but wont connect to live. Seems I zapped something. sent out for repair. tech support was not eager to repair it. they thought they would fix it over the phone... what am i a retard?!? anyone with the same problem??
I'm on my 3rd console. I've have 2 rrod's and a screwed up DVD drive (not reading spinning disks). I'm pretty upset about the whole deal, and I'm also upset about the lack of customer service. I just got my xbox back 2 months ago, and tonight it's sitting in Texas being fixed again. I had to go through 2 supervisors to get them to understand that a free 1 month of Xbox live wasn't enough compensate me for my Xbox being gone. Especially since it doesn't compensate me, only replaces the time that the 360 is gone. I finally got a free game out of them, Project Gotham Racing 3. I'm really disappointed with MS about this, and I hate to say it, but a PS3 is starting to sound really good to me. I spend 2-3 4 hour nights on it a week, not enough to have broken it in good. Hit me up in a few weeks, my gamertag is freak4yahweh. Maybe I'll be on playing HALO3, maybe my Xbox will be broken again, who knows. freak4yahweh
Not a problem [Smiles!]. I think most people that had problems got a 360 before Lot 0714 rolled out (I'm a lucky one, lot 0732). So far, the worst problem I've had is that it heats my room up significantly during extended play. That really helps now that its 30 degrees outside (62 inside). Keeps me nice and toasty..
The Samsung Blast from T-Mobile is a good phone, relatively cheap, and easy to use. How's that possi ...

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones (knock on wood). I owned my first console for 2 years before selling it on ebay (it worked fine when i sold it) and bought my second console about a year ago when the Hdmi Pro version with the 2 free games came out. I have yet to have any problems mentioned above. I take care of it and dust it regularly (no abuse), and it has been good to me. I did get a read disk error once, but that was with a rented copy of Halo 3 with scraches all over it (to be expected). Other than that, nothing. I guess its just the luck of the draw. I will say that i too am a Xbox live marketplace junkie. I have so many tv shows, demos, arcade games, etc.. that i will soon need more space. Is there something out there that lets you connect multiple hard drives together to use at once (like an external stackable system that lets you use multiple xbox hard drives at once)? I already have a 120gb hard drive and dont know what to do once that is full.
