Dying to capture the moment in HD, but leery of laying down $1,000 or more for a high-def camcorder? Then check out this new, compact HD camcorder from Aiptek, which shoots at 720p and will only set you back $300.

The GO-HD packs in an impressive set of features into its 4.5- by 2.8-inch shell, not the least of which being its ability to record 1280- by 720-pixel video at 30 frames per second, making for glorious high-def clips of your dog Spot at the family picnic. The camcorder also boasts 3X optical zoom with auto-focus, a night mode for low-light conditions, and a swiveling 2.4-inch LCD for viewing your movies. Snap an 8GB SD card into the GO-HD's memory slot for up to four hours of HD video or eight hours of standard-def shooting. All in all, not bad for just $300, especially considering that the "bargain" HD camcorders I've seen in the past have all retailed for $700 and up.
