The upcoming fall Dashboard update for the Xbox 360 will include a cool bonus: the ability to download the full version of original Xbox games—including the first Halo—from Xbox Live.
The "Xbox Originals" game downloads (rumors of which have been floating around for the past day or so, and now confirmed by Microsoft) will go live December 4, and four Xbox games have been announced: Halo: Combat Evolved, Psychonauts, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge, and Fable. Other games in the launch lineup will include "the most popular games from action-adventure to classic role-playing games"; no details on additional titles, however. Microsoft says Xbox Original games will cost 1,200 Microsoft points per game (or about $15).
No other official details on the December 4 Dashboard update, unfortunately; there had been rumors that IPTV for the 360 might be included in the update, but Microsoft flatly denied it late last month.
OK, show of hands: who's willing to fork over $15 to download an original Xbox game? Any titles in particular you'd like to see?
Update: Chris Null reports that some Xbox Originals downloads may suffer from bugs, including slow frame rates.

how do i get on line with my xbox 360
I wouldn't want to spend money to download a game I have for the PC... I have the PC port of Halo 1 but I rarely play it as I really don't have too much time to spend with my computer anymore. My 360 is nice but I don't have Live because of the location and I'm not going to spend $100 just to go wireless. I'm out.
I can go to a local store and buy old games for 2.99. so why would I pay 15 for a download?
I agree, the price must come down for this to make sense. And wireless should be standard on the 360. Microsoft is going to have to really tweak the 360 to make it something I want. It's had too many problems, comes in a crappy white colour, no wireless, charges for online play, and apparantly runs so loud you need to keep turning up the volume to hear your game. And now they expect us to pay $15 for the old XBOX games! Come on Microsoft, get with it.
Sony's Playstation 3 has received a huge amount of hype with its over-the-top high definition graphi ...
