Got a Warcraft lover who has little interest in studying vocabulary words for the SATs?

Kaplan, a name well known to anyone who has prepped for an SAT or an ACT, has teamed up with Tokyopop to help raise college prep scores through a series of graphic novels sprinkled with more than 300 words often found on SAT and ACT tests.

Warcraft: Dragon Hunt, Volumn 1: Kaplan SAT/ACT Vocabulary-Building Manga is the first in the Sunwell Trilogy.

The definitions of the vocabulary words can be found in the margins surrounding the graphics, and many of the words are in talk bubbles and sidebars describing what's happening in the story.

I can't vouch for the content since I haven't seen the book. But if you've got teens who are into Warcraft and that's been okay with you for awhile, this could be one effective study tool for college prep test studying. Hey, at least they'll be reading.

WOW.... I've never read it-- don't plan too-- but the illustrations are nicely done. Warcraft isn't my thing--

I think this is a very original way to prepare for the Act. I have to say that it would have certainly helped me with mine.

There seems to be a theme in SAT prep these days - basically making it more interesting...i wish I had this stuff! My personal favorite is Flocabulary (www.flocabulary.com), which uses rap songs to teach big vocab words.

I am a definite World of Warcraft lover and although my SATs were taken a long time ago, I think this will be a great tool for high school kids who love to play WoW. Kudos!!
