Planning a trip?

By now, many of us have bookmarked a web site or two for checking air fares and planning trips. But I came across a terrific, extensive list on Mashable of trip planning sites and services. So if you've been wondering what else is available, there is no shortage of trip planning sites on the web. A read through Mashable's favorites is guaranteed to turn up some new travel bookmarks for everyone.

There are 17 sites and applications on the list, but here are a few highlights:

TripWiser - A site that allows you to plan each individual day of your trip once you decide where you're going. You can "clone" a trip—choose the same itinerary as another member's.

TripHub - You can create a page detailing your upcoming trip to share with friends and family.

Travelistic - Mashbable describes it as the "YouTube of travel-based videos." You can post and view videos from many travel destinations. They can help you decide where to go on your next trip, while you share your videos for other travelers.

Kayak - We've written about Kayak on Yahoo! Tech; it's a great site for comparing air fares from multiple airlines all at once. To add a few of my own favorite sites, check out Farecast, which lets you know if prices are on the rise, going down, or hanging steady. And, of course, Yahoo! Travel has Farechase, which compares air fares from several carriers, and a Questions section for travelers to pose travel questions to the community.

World Hum - More like an online travel magazine that provides year-round travel ideas and stories.

Check out the full list, and let us know which sites you like to use when planning a trip.
