During a visit with my parents in Florida, I set my dad up with an iTunes account and a balance to search for some of his 1930s jazz and orchestra favorites to fill out his collection. At the time, I didn't realize how unfriendly the iTunes interface is to aging eyes. Even though we have found ways to enlarge screen views with zoom features elsewhere on the web, iTunes is not so easy to enlarge nor traverse for everyone.
So, I finally spent some time this morning searching with him via a GoToMyPC connection that allows me to connect to their computer via mine. We found some Jack Hylton & His Orchestra selections he'd been wanting, as well as lots of other period songs. I made some playlists so we can easily burn a CD next time we talk.
We spent 90 minutes on the phone, 1,250 miles apart. It's the next best thing to being there. I just wish I'd done this sooner.

Logmein.com has one rather large advantage for the average user: it's free. There's also Crossloop which, unlike GotomyPC and Logmein, doesn't run in the background and hog resources when you don't need it. And it's free.
