Walking through the streets of New York earlier today, I could swear there were even more Starbucks than the last time I was in the city. Even though they are sometimes a block away from each other, the lines are always long. Just what do they put in that coffee?
Starbucks customers in the UK can avoid the lines—if they can find a seat and if they have a laptop that taps into the coffee house's Wi-Fi service. Gizmodo tells us that in-store Wi-Fi log-in pages in Britain's Starbucks offer the option of ordering from your computer, and a barista (Starbucks worker) will bring your lattes and high-priced sugary treats to your table.
It's a thoughtful service for customers concerned about leaving laptops unattended, and it probably yields repeat drink orders for Starbucks.
Would you be more apt to linger with a laptop in a café with this kind of service?
