We're always on the lookout for the perfect book light that allows one of us to read and not keep the other awake at night. Most turn out to be a little too dim, or the good ones don't seem to last very long. We've just about given up on them.

So I am eager to see this flat MARK bookmark that does double duty as a book light come to market. When placed on a page, it glows to illuminate the words behind it, using flexible organic light-emitting diodes, or FOLED, technology. FOLEDs provide light using little energy via a film layer of organic compounds.

Yanko Design reports that "the intensity of the light can be controlled and the best part is if you fall asleep, your bookmark is already where you left off."

It's still a concept, but I'm sure lots of nighttime readers will be giving designer Avnish Gautam's design a spin when it is a reality.

Yahooooooo!!!!!!! It's about time someone made a reading light for us nitetime readers that we can actually use in such a fashion. This way, there is no bothering my spouse with the light, and it's not a battle with an awkward light whose battery burns out way too fast. I am thrilled and can't wait to get my hands on a few.

Lazy as I am, I'm not sure I'd want to move the light along as I read (stopped pointing at the words mannnny moons ago)...full page illumination would be ideal.
