Nickelodeon and Shutterfly have come together to offer new photo books in Shutterfly's holiday lineup of gifts. The partnership will add Dora the Explorer and Diego storybooks to a collection of Clifford, Thomas the Tank Engine, and Sesame Street books already offered.
The books provide a personalized way to add a child's photos into familiar storybooks featuring favorite characters. By partnering with Nickelodeon, Shutterfly is adding some of the more currently popular characters with kids to its catalog.
For $40, you can insert a photo of your child into "Dora and (child's name) Rescue Adventure," on the cover and throughout the book in a story about searching for Boots. You provide some personal info and a dedication for the front of the book, but only one photo. It would nice if you were able to submit more than one picture, but no.
You have more leeway with photo books that feature Dora and Diego that allow you to tell the story of an event, or a few events, and drag and drop several photos into the personalized book. Such creative license comes with a price. A 12-by-12 memory book is $60 for the first 20 pages, $1.50 for each additional page. But Shutterfly is offering a deal where you buy one book and get 25 percent off the second ($45).
An 8-by-8 photo book is $35 for the first 20 pages, $26.24 for the second book.
