In keeping with my quest for new yet practical technology, I wanted to pass on one last find at CES that is useful, affordable, and makes good everyday sense for the home.
Energizer has a new line of LED lights that double as everyday lighting and emergency flashlights. The Light on Demand series is powered by LED light sticks that can be removed from holders to stay on after power goes out.
The All-in-One Light Center ($70), pictured here, has four removable light sticks that sit in a rechargeable base that plugs into a wall outlet. Each light stick runs for about five hours on rechargeable batteries, but alkaline batteries can be used to prolong the use in the event of long outages.
There's also a Twin Center with two lights ($45), a desk lamp ($45), and wallplate nightlight ($25). Check out all of the Light on Demand products on this web site. Energizer says they will be available at Target in February.
