Three Kids, Three Different iPods

As many of you know by now, I've got three kids. My youngest turned 11 this week, and we gave her what she asked for. No, not a puppy, but the second thing on her list: an iPod nano.

The iPod nano has been a top birthday gift in our house the past two years. Our oldest got hers at age 13 and our son unwrapped one at age 12. So, the youngest got an iPod at the youngest age and, as it turns out, hers has video capability and the most storage (8GB).

No, it's not fair, as both older sibs tell me. But with both "older"  generation iPods working just fine, we're in no rush to trade up just because newer, better models are on display at the nearest Apple store.

It's amazing that in less than two years, a product can change so much. But that's tech, and that certainly is Apple.

After getting over the initial impulse of iPod envy, my 12-year-old didn't hesitate to sit down at the computer to help his sister move her music and a few videos onto her shiny new birthday present.

Oh, and she promises to share, since they shared their iPods with her before she got her own. So it's all good.

Why was this put on yahoo tech? This was just a post of you telling everyone that you bought your 11 year old an ipod. Great information.

matt_archbold2002 -- Just a light post about how buying the same item for three different people within two years yielded three different mp3 players. That's all.

That's cute, and I'm glad to hear something personal about my favorite blog. I'm glad that you put that article up! And I'm glad that your kids are sharing their toys! :) Keep up the good work, Dory Devlin!
