I pulled out the pumpkin lights to hang on the front porch this weekend—pretty much the extent of my Halloween decorating. But if you want to do more than string a few lights around the house, I've found some interesting sites on the web to help you plan a fun Halloween for your kids.
Time for a party: If you're brave enough to throw a Halloween party into the busy fall mix, check out Family Fun Magazine's Halloween party ideas. While there, you'll find lots of ideas and directions for crafts and decorations, too, including Trash Bag Tarantulas, popcorn-filled "hands," and "Ring Around the Ghostie," the friendly ghosts I see holding hands around trees in my neighborhood.
Fun and Games: If you're looking for something different, seasonal, and safe for the kids to play on the Internet, check out blackdog.net, where you'll find Halloween Hangman, crosswords, and lots of other games. I would have finished this post sooner, but I got into the Halloween word search and just had to finish it.
Carve a pumpkin without the mess on Wisconsin's Swan Pumpkin Farm site. It takes seconds, and kids can make all kinds of jack-o-lanterns without pumpkin goo and seeds spilling out all over your kitchen. You do that only once.
Make Halloween cards: You can make your own cards or make Martha's. Check out Martha Stewart's new Halloween "Boo" cards on Kodak's EasyShare Gallery.Search for fun: That's the only thing you'll find on GooGhoul.com, where you plug in your zip code to find fun Halloween events in your area. Thanks to Lifehacker for that find.
If you've got more Halloween fun on the web to share, please share below before it's time to fill up those candy dishes and answer the doorbell.

I'm sorry... I thought the gooy mess and seeds are part and parcel of the carving fun. A added treat of saving the seeds, washing and toasting them is a warm halloween tradition! Substituting a virtual jack-o-lantern for the real MacCoy is not quite the same!
