Easter is hours away, my aunt is coming to stay with us, and, true to form, I don't have the holiday menu entirely set. I am not panicking, however, because I know I can find recipes and a plan quickly with help on the web.
A few minutes spent on Yahoo! Food and Epicurious yield lots of good ideas. I love Epicurious for major planning and late-day attempts to avoid one more night of pasta with butter and cheese. I toss in the names of a few items left in the fridge and wait for the recipes to emerge. (Avocado + tomatoes + chicken = Grilled Cumin Chicken Breasts with Avocado Salsa.)
Yahoo! Food is a nice addition to my menu-planning bookmarks. (I may write for another Yahoo! site, but, as always, all opinions in this space are my own.) Yahoo! Food has recipes from several sources, including Food & Wine, Allrecipes.com, Eatingwell.com, Everyday with Rachel Ray, and Epicurious. I don't think I"ll be marbelizing eggs for Easter, as Martha recommends on the site. But I can find everything I'm looking for to plan a nice meal for Sunday.
Conde Nast's Epicurious features more than 20,000 recipes from "Gourmet," "Bon Appetit," and "Self" magazines. There are great cooking and entertaining tips throughout the site, and there's even a drink recipe section. But it's the recipe search I love the best. I use it much more than I do my trusty cookbooks.
Do you find more recipes online or through magazines and books?
