Been wondering if your teens are where they say they are when they call you on their cell phones?
If you could, would you track their whereabouts? Sprint and Disney are banking the answer is yes.
Sprint is the first U.S. phone service provider to offer global positioning software (GPS) technology and add "tracking device" to family cell phone features. The "family locator" service will cost another $9.99 a month for up to four phones.
Disney's service, available in June, will run on airtime leased from Sprint. With Disney Mobile, aside from tracking their kids' every move, parents will be able to limit their phone use to rein in monthly bills.
Look for similar plans from other major providers, though none are tipping their hands yet.
Would this service help or hurt family connectedness? Let me know what you think.
Our team is on it and we should have everything back to normal shortly. Please come back soon.
