If you've got kids who like to stay awake long past bedtime and rise way before the sun (and you), you'll try anything to get them to learn some better sleeping and waking patterns. That's what this Kidsleep night light and alarm clock aims to do, but I'm not sure it would do the trick for a feisty tot determined to rise before the birds.
The bigger circle on the two-circle clock has a dimly lit bunny sleeping when it's night time and a brighter circle illuminating an awake bunny when it's time to rise and shine. Parents can set the clock to show either at the times they choose. As a child gets older, it can be an alarm clock that awakens kids with birds singing. Worth $70? I don't think so.
Bloggers on Oh Gizmo! and Gizmodo have had some fun with this one. But as a mom to both early risers and late-night revelers during the toddler years, I'm not sure this oversized night light would convince a strong-willed toddler to do as it commands. Nice try, though.

I have to agree with bAltonji's comment (interesting, she has the same last name as me!). She beat me to it this time! Maybe if we recorded daddy's voice saying ... shhhh, go back to sleep, its too early, its still dark out, STAY IN BED! Do NOT come into mommy and daddy's room! ... maybe that product would be worth $70. Of course, it would have to be rigged to the child's body movement to go off at just the right time. Heck, it's probably cheaper to just move in with our neighbors up the street! Maybe they'd let my wife and I sleep on their couch! They're great neighbors!
Pardon me, I see a grammatical error in my last posting! Should have said, ... they'd let my wife and me sleep on their couch. At least, I think that's the correct grammar!

As a mom of one who has no qualms about rising before the sun, this gadget would be a waste of $70. We use room darkening shades and no nightlight yet when she is finished sleeping, the day begins!
