When I wrote about BeBe Sounds' newest baby monitor, the company's owner told me they decided to return to 900MHz frequency because so many phones and other appliances operate at 2.4GHz and even 5.8GHz frequencies.

Well, Philips has taken another tack with its mod-looking orange and white DECT Baby Monitor, which guarantees zero interference through the wireless standard called Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications. A dad, David Pescovitz over at Boing Boing, gave it a whirl and says it has worked without interference and without fail for six months. As well it should. At $200, it's on the pricey end of the baby monitor market but right in line with the BeBe Sounds' Portable Video & Sound Monitor.

Philips' DECT Baby Monitor does not have video, but it plays lullabies and you can monitor your baby's room temperature from the parent monitor. And, as David writes, "... the product's biggest selling point is that it works. And in my experience with baby monitors, that's saying a lot."

If anyone has used this new Philips monitor or others you like, let us know.
