The rumors are true. Microsoft has officially announced plans to release the Xbox 360 Elite, a system that includes a 120GB hard drive, and high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) port, a high-definition cable, wireless controller, and Xbox LIVE headset. Some of the rumors in rotation earlier this week hinted at an improved Xbox 360 that would include a better processor, an HD-DVD hard drive and a built in IPTV. Unfortunately, the only additions to the Xbox 360 Elite model are the bigger hard drive and HDMI connections. The good news is the Elite won't be a limited edition, so there will be plenty to go around come April 29, when it starts appearing in stores. Also note, this system will not be replacing any of the exsisting sytems available—at least not yet.
Xbox 360 owners who don't plan to upgrade will have the option of buying a stand-alone 120GB hard drive to store games and movies downloaded from the Xbox LIVE Marketplace. Other accessories available upon release are additional black wireless controllers, black rechargeable battery packs and Play & Charge kits. The console, along with high-definition components and accessories, will be priced at $479.99, and expected to arrive in stores on April 29.

cool, now my 360 will match my PC (and maybe my PS3 if I get one).
