Aside from the special designer editions, the Sidekick's grey color is so drab that anyone who owns one has given it a touch of glamour by either covering it in Swarovski crystals or dipping it into some Colorware hues. But with Easter coming up, cell phone makers are adding a tad of color to their otherwise grey handsets. At least, such is the case with the upcoming Sidekick ID, a bare bones version of the SK3.
Thanks to a tipster, Engadget was able to get these images of the upcoming Sidekick ID from an internal T-Mobile website being prepared for launch. The rumored Sidekick is set to launch on April 18th at the more affordable rate of $100 after a $50 rebate. Of course, this means the stripped down Sidekick ID will not include EDGE connectivity, MP3 player, Bluetooth, and a digital camera, but it will definitely perform the texting functions it's well known for. Crunchgear was the first to leak out a picture and details of the slimmed-down Sidekick, which as we're finding out, have been right on the money. Stay tuned for more details as the story unfolds.
Any Sidekick fans out there? What do you think of this stripped down model?

Original you say... LoL. The Original, "SideKick" was written by Borland back in the 80's. It was a software tool. Used to dial your telephone Modem)Telephone # database had Hex to Ascii conversion tables, plus many more features. Along with 1Dirplus, you had the premo of tools for computing. Well in the 80's anywho.. LoL
