The future of watch design is looking great, and SEIKO appears to be raising the bar with an upcoming Electronic Ink Watch for women. The watch looks like any other bracelet, but displays the time according to its wearer's mood. If the wearer is at work, it can be set to an 'efficiency' mode to display the time in clear, easy to read numbers. However, if the wearer is in a creative mood, she can set it to display the time in 'mystery' mode, which is shows the time in artsy doodles.
Thanks to electronic paper display, the watches can be thinner and implemented into bangle designs. Also e-paper is said to have twice the contrast of a regular LCD panel, so it's easier to read even read under low light conditions, so it doesn't need backlighting. Engadget reports that only 500 of them have been made, so unfortunately, they'll carry a hefty $2,000 price tag if they ever hit the market.
