Plenty of gadgets have garnered a great deal of attention after going pink, and Microsoft recently started testing the rosy waters by officially adding a pink Zune player to its inventory. After months of teasing fans with exclusive runs of the pink digital player—most of them which ended up on eBay—Microsoft finally made it widely available online and off.
This means you can hit the local Target or Walmart to get yourself a pink Zune to celebrate Mother's Day. The 30GB player holds thousands of songs, has a big three-inch screen, FM radio, and Zune-to-Zune music sharing capabilities so you can check out your friend's tunes. This is supposed to be its big selling point.
To celebrate the release of the new pink player, Microsoft is offering loads of digital goodies on its Zune Marketplace, including butterfly wallpapers, pink-themed playlists, and a free download of Mandy Moore's new single called "Extraordinary." If you're feeling lucky, check out Mandy's contest page where she's giving away ten pink Zune players pre-loaded with her new video.
You know, the player is cute and all, but I doubt it will sway the masses to go Zune. When CompUSA was closing, I swear they were practically giving them away at 40 percent off, and people just weren't buying them. This generation is just too invested in in iTunes and iPods. What do you think? Would you ditch your iPod for a pink Zune?

I did ditch my iPod for this new pink Zune and I am so glad I did! The player is just so amazing. It makes my iPod seem so flippin' boring!
