Really cool hotels are starting to spring up in San Francisco. Last week I told you about a high-tech hotel for dogs and cats that was opening in San Francisco this month. The pooch hotel has luxury suites outfitted with plasma TVs, sound systems, and aquariums to relax your precious pets while you go on vacation with a peace of mind.
While you shouldn't drop off your significant other at a high-tech hotel when you need some personal space, I do recommend that when planning a vacation you look for hotels that offer the same tech comforts they're used to at home. If anything, this might be a good motivator when planning your trip together. Trust me, I say this as someone who's married to a gamer who can't live without an Internet connection or TV. If you need a little help, Chris Null has a list of the 10 Best Geek Hotels.
I've never considered Best Western to be a place to stay while on vacation, but the Best Western Hotel Tomo in San Francisco's Japantown latest makeover was inspired by Japanese pop-culture. Rooms here feature unique anime-style murals, exercise machines with built-in televisions and headsets, iPod docking stations, 26-inch LCD Flat screen televisions, Wi-Fi, and more.Â
As if that's not enough, the hotel also has two gaming suites furnished with a six-foot LCD projection screen, Playstion 3 and Wii gaming consoles, bean bags, and a mini-fridge packed with lots of drinks to satisfy their caffeine addiction. The hotel actually opens on June 2007, so if you're heading to the city by the bay, you better make your reservations now.
