Get Your Free Joost Invitation

The season finale of all your favorite shows is approaching. What will you watch all summer long? A few months ago, I showed you some ways to watch TV on your computer. You could start watching a whole new show online by either going to the network's sites, downloading them from iTunes, or catching them on-demand.

Lately, we've been hearing a lot about Joost, a peer-to-peer online TV application that allows you to watch streaming TV right on your desktop. Here you'll find many channels including MTV, Comedy Central, Warner Bros. Records, Sports Illustrated, and others. Chris Null wrote a quick hands-on review, and seemed to like it. But like any program in beta, the only way to start enjoying Joost is by invitation only. Ben told us earlier this month, that any Joost user can now send unlimited invites. The problem here is finding a friend with a Joost account.

Today, Joost partnered with a couple of bloggers to give away 20,000 invites. If you want to get your Joost on, then hurry up and sign up for a free beta account. I got mine, so if you don't get one on time, just send me an email or leave a comment below. I'll hook you up.

Click here to get your Joost invite before they run out.

I'd like an account but it seems all of the free ones are gone. The link goes to a "500 Internal Server Error" on the Joost server??

It's sounds really great! I got my invite and downloaded it. I installed it but now I get this error tvprunnere.exe Application error. A breakpoint has been reached....click ok to terminate program. I did a search and it seems that lots of others are getting the same error no matter what system they have. I'm using a Dell 620 dual processor and it's never really given me a hard time installing anything. I can't find a fix on-line...Any ideas? Thanks!

I just stared becoming a besta user a few days ago. They wouldn't let me have my user name because it begins with a number. I sent them an impassioned e-mail and, while they couldn't accommodate me, they did at least respond. Overall, it's pretty buggy. I have an Alienware Area 51 computer and a DSL connection and still am running into hang time lags. The interface is okay, but not great. Also, whenever I want to "turn off" the Joost, I can never figure out how to do it. I just randomly click the bottom of the screen and it eventually gives me my desktop view.
