Remodeling the bathrooms? Here's a shower head not to be missed. German faucet maker Grohe introduced a new bathroom collection made to appeal to techies and water conservationist alike. Grohe Ondus is a jet black shower system with an icon-based user interface that digitally controls a number of shower functions, we've only dreamed of until today.

According to MocoLoco, this digital shower head displays emotional icons that ensure water is always at the right temperature so you don't get burned. The Ondus shower system has two modes: "sleep" mode when it's not being used, and "awake" mode to display a series of simple backlit icons when you're ready to jump into the shower.

To personalize each person's shower, the smart showerhead has preset functions to adjust each user's preferred water temperature to enhance their bathing experience. Users can pause the water flow at the touch of a button, and resume their shower at the same temperature. This is a great idea that would definitely save us a lot of water, which also translates into money. No more waiting for water to warm up. I'd say this could only be good thing.

I assume that the temp displays in Fahrenheit as well? Or will we Americans finally have to join the civilized--I mean, metric--world to use this?

There is no significant electrocution chance if it is battery powered, which it most likely is. Being designed by German engineers, it is probably extraordinarily safe, along with being complex and expensive. I wonder if anyone makes a simple unpowered thermometer that attaches to a shower or faucet head? A simple plastic sticker like you can get for a fish tank could be used to show when it ids very hot or not warm enough.
