Charge Your Gadgets In Flight

I was on a flight to the East Coast from San Francisco, when not even an hour into the flight, I realized I forgot to charge my iPod. Don't you hate that? I had to break out the laptop to listen to some tunes, while I drained the little bit of power the Macbook Pro had to recharge it. Now, I know I'm not the only one who forgets to recharge things, but until airlines install power outlets in every row, we'll have to do with chargers like the Inflight Power.

Gizmodo spotted this awesome charger which plugs into the plane's audio jack to recharge iPods or certain cell phones via USB. Adapters are sold together in bundled packages to power iPods, iPhone, Blackberry, Motorola phones, or both. If you're looking for a practical gift for that frequent flyer, you might want to check it out. It will truly make flying coach a lot more bearable.

I use the Turbo Charge TC2 which uses two AA batteries to re-charge my phone or iPod while I'm in flight. I can buy AA batteries anywhere in the world and I leave the charger in my carry-on bag so I never forget it. They don't have a model to re-charge my laptop, but such a device would probably be larger than the cords I need to charge it in a wall outlet anyway.

So Question...if you can charge your iPod & phone via USB, could we use it to plug in (and/or charge) our laptops during flight?

I guess for maximum power you'd want to switch to the loudest music you can find?

Sounds like it is good for emergency charging, since there is not much "juice" charging from an audio jack. I bought a samll mutli travel charger from Ionhub. It can charge 6 devices at the same time from anywhere. With that I don't have to bring all the bulky chargers with me anymore, it is the way to go.
