I came across this concept iPod dock jacket design, and couldn't help posting about it. I immediately emailed the designer Wei Lieh to give me the scoop, since the picture only had the caption "transform your dog into a walking jukebox." Now I don't have a dog, and if I did I probably wouldn't want music coming out of his sides, but if this jacket was available at retail stores it would sell like hotcakes. Anyway, this is what Wei had to say about his design:
"One evening, sitting in the park, watching people with their dogs, I come out with this funny idea of transforming man's best friend into a walking jukebox. I design this iPod dock dog jacket that holds 2 speakers, one on each side, and a pocket in the middle for the iPod. The dog leash holds a remote control that allows you to adjust volume and change songs while walking the dog. Now both you and your dog can enjoy some of your favorite music while doing the everyday walk. Who knows, maybe my invention may lead to the discovery of the world's first hip hop dancing puppy."
So, will it ever go on sale?
"As much as I love my design, I see a problem; I don't think it is good to sandwich a doggy's body with two piece of magnet (the speakers); unless someone approach me with lab reports stating that it is harmless to the pet in the long run. I enjoy creating new things and coming out with new crazy ideas, at the same time being responsible for my creation."
There you have it. Transforming your puppy into a walking jukebox is not a good idea. Although, this isn't the first time man has attempted the creation of a doggy boombox. Just take a look at the Beat Generation Stereo Pet Carrier.

This product doesnt seem to sound like its to friendly to dogs ears because dogs have very sensative ears and by playing music long its sides thats just seems like a pain for the dog to have a ringing in its ears when its trying to enjoy the park or wherever the dog is. This is more of a convenience to us but a hassle for the dogs.
