Selling my used college textbooks for less than half the price to bookstores was never an option for me, which explains the book collection gathering dust somewhere in my storage closet. I figured I'd rather sell the books online or save them for my sister. Thanks to the Internet, college students today have way more options to buy, sell, or trade books online, and now they can add renting to their list of options.
Textbookflix is one of the only sites of its kind that rents textbooks to college students. You can rent as many books as you want, pay a one time fee per book that includes shipping charges, and wait for the books to be delivered to your doorstep before class begins. You have an option to buy them or rent them for a whole semester. Over two million titles can be searched by author, title, keyword or ISBN, and only a handful of participating universities allow students to search the database by department and course name. Students from any university can rent books, so if you're short on cash this semester, this could be a good option to look into.
I'd love to hear about your experience with Textbookflix, so let me know in the comments.
