Put Your Old Gizmos Back in Rotation

Too busy to sell your old gadgets online? Before your house becomes a gadget landfill, take a look at Second Rotation. This site helps busy people like yourself find a home for your old gizmos, and saves you from the hassles of selling your items online. With the rise of criminals posing as buyers on sites like Craigslist, this might not be a bad idea for casual sellers.

The way it works is by finding the product you want to sell on the website. You'll be asked a few questions regarding the condition of your gear in order to gauge the trade-in value. If the price is right, you'll be instructed to choose your payment method, accept the trade-in offer, then print out a shipping label. The price you're offered for your gizmo is based on a price check Second Rotation does on eBay. You're definitely not getting back what you paid for, but at least you're getting something back for an item that might end up in a recycling bin anyway.

The site launched last month, and already lists 2,500 items ranging from digital cameras to GPS devices. The site seems to be highly recommended by CNET who says on its NewsBlog the company is working with retailers to let customers get rid of old gear when they buy new one, and might even operate as a recycling resource that will gladly accept electronics with no resale value to salvage their parts.

The site is promising, although it needs to work on increasing its buying price, which I find dissapointing.
