Cindy Southworth, technology director at the National Network to End Domestic Violence, says "there's nothing new about abusive spouses using technology to terrorize. What is new is that now nearly all abusers use high-tech spying tools to try to extend their domination." That's a scary thought, and one reason to take action if you think your lover is spying on you. The National Network to End Domestic Violence recommends updating your antivirus software regularly to detect any spyware. If you're thinking about leaving, don't use your home computer to research your options, use a friend's computer instead. Be careful out there, and remember that email and instant messaging tools are not private enough. If your spouse is monitoring your every move, he/she probably has the password to all your personal accounts.

just paranoia. if this is a fact. the U.S. could have tracked bin laden's every move and any other terrorists'.
"the women are probably smuts....Paranoia will destroy ya..." Wow....you guys worked VERY hard to think up those comments....why even waste your time typing??? Would have been good to give some links to how and where to update spyware, etc....
Why is it when a woman does this, it's "her right to know." When a man does it, it's "abuse."
The saddest thing about this article is the comments posted above. The women of this world deserve our standing up to fight for and defend them. This is a very real issue and a very scary issue. The amount of crazy men out there is scary and our women deserve better than to be harrased, stalked, beaten and killed because we men won't believe another guy is capable of that. Worse yet are the men who don't want to admit they have done it themselves and to incriminate another would mean taking away tools that they believe are their right to use to control the women in their lives. Too many men in our society just don't get that no means no. That is taken as an attack on their oh so fragile egos. So they stalk and terrify the women who have hurt their poor little hearts instead of acting like a real man and move on. Time to stand up and call these guys out, demand that action be taken against them, and make this world a a safer place for the women who deserve to be happy without having to look over their shoulders.
