We're a few months away from Christmas, and online retailers are already teasing us with their holiday previews. First Street, for Boomers and Beyond, is going high tech this year with the Santa Slide Show ornament. The ornamental red sphere contains a tiny 1.5-inch color LCD display that plays a slide show of up to 50 photos, but you can also manually scroll through photos at the push of a button.
The tiny digital photo album includes software so you can quickly load photos using a USB cord that plugs into your computer. Once images are loaded, you can either hang it on the tree or set it on its table-top stand. It runs on two AAA batteries, so make sure you have some rechargeable handy. I think this is a terrific idea for those of you who can't make it home for the holidays. Kind of reminds me of the digital photo wallet and keychain. Strange how ubiquitous photo viewers have become.
What do you think about the popularity of digital photo albums?
