The white iMacs are not as sleek as the new ones, but it's nothing a little makeover couldn't fix. Geeksugar came across Chromac who makes an assortment of aluminum enclosures to give older iMacs a different look and feel. Chromac's iMac cases are not cheap either because they're designed with quality materials found in luxury automobiles. I'm not sure that justifies a $500 price tag, but I'm sure someone out there will probably disagree.
It seems the metal enclosure slides over the white plastic iMac, covering the front, sides, and back of the computer. They're available in eleven colors including flamingo pink, lime green and cool blue; but if you prefer something less colorful, the company also offers metal cases in classic gold, black, and gun metal gray. Chromac sells each enclosure separately or along with an Intel Core 2 Duo iMac.
What do you think? Would you get one if the price was right?
