Some customizations are ridiculously expensive (think diamond iPod shuffle), but some people love their Macs so much they'll profess their love for them in different ways. Artistic types prefer tattoos, techies get them etched, and the filthy rich cover theirs in gold and diamonds. Computer Choppers (famous for creating the Digg case mod) are now offering custom gold plating for Macbook Pros that runs anywhere between $1,200 and $1,500.

You have your choice of 24-carat gold or platinum plates, and if you decide to add a little more glamour to your golden Mac, you can order a logo covered in your favorite gem. Anything from diamonds to sapphires is available, but it'll cost you extra. Just to give you an idea, a diamond covered Apple logo runs between $500-$2,400. Wow! I think someone is going to be really happy this Christmas. I agree with the Luxist,  I love my Macbook, but for that price, I'd rather just get a new one.

Seriously, what's next?
