Garment Protects Unborn Children from Electro-Smog

For some time now, I've seen reports that say men who use mobile phones risk infertility due to low sperm counts. Researchers believe electromagneticwaves may cause direct damage to cells, and decrease sperm production. If they've managed to make briefs for men lined with threads that block cell phone radiation, why not make something similar for pregnant women?

A company called MummyWraps wants you to protect your unborn child from electro-smog, commonly known as Electro-Magnetic Radiation (EMR), with a special fabric that blocks dangerous radiation. The company believes that a fetus' rapid growth puts it at a greater risk of cell mutations that cause major medical problems or even miscarriage.

Since electro-smog is around us as long as we're near computers, wireless networks, cell phones, microwaves, televisions, and other devices that use radio-frequency signals, I guess it wouldn't hurt to provide the baby with some level of protection. And for this reason, MummyWraps are lined with gossamer-thin silver-coated thread that forms a close-woven shielding grid. It's soft enough to wear under your garments or over them when you're at home.

Electro-magnetic consultant John Churchill told Stuff.co.nz "it was hard to quantify the effects of EMF on unborn children" but thinks the Mummywrap would serve as a "prudent avoidance" of a possibly harmful substance. I haven't seen much research on subject, but those truly concerned now have something available to them.
